Qualifications and Experience

 

Jenefer is a qualified and registered midwife working in a local trust hospital. She gained her First Class degree in midwifery from the University of Leeds and her Hypnobirthing diploma with Katherine Graves from the Hypnobirthing Association. Jenefer has been an active breastfeeding peer supporter for Treasure Chest in York for the last 5 years and plans to undertake further courses to enhance her practice in the following areas: counseling, breastfeeding counselor, active birth practitioner and an MSc in Midwifery and Women's Health.

 

 

Background and Interests

 

Jenefer was born at home in 1978 to Rose (a computer programmer) and Ian (a homeopath). Rose was a member of La Leche League and a follower of the continuum concept. Jenefer’s background is in music and she holds a First Class Honours degree in music and Diplomas in flute teaching and flute performance. She lives with her husband and daughter in York and her interests outside midwifery and birth are: spending time with family and friends, reading and film.

A daughter called Jenefer came here today.

A daughter called Jenefer, hip hip hooray!

For how long or how far, nobody knows:

A daughter called Jenefer for me and Rose.

 

A daughter called Jenefer struggled her way

To be here with us on this happy day.

And now she’s sleeping so quiet and safe

Sure this is her home, and this is her place.

 

The years now stretch forward with hope, joy and truth

For this little girl, our Jenefer Ruth.

We’ve fallen for her, already, it’s true

And we send you this letter so you’ll celebrate too!
